New Beginnings

So... I've never really seen myself as much of a writer, which means I've never considered doing a blog. However, my future SIL has started keeping a blog and I thought the idea was sort of neat, especially since there are going to be so many exciting things in store for my life this year! Also, we learned in church today that for many women, in order to keep their resolutions, they needed to write them down! (And, boy do I have a lot of goals and resolutions for this year!)

  1. Get in shape/ lose a few pounds. I need to do this in a big way! Megan and I have decided to work out at 4:30 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope that by doing this I can at least run one 5k before the years end with the Roberts girls. Also, I'd love to lose anywhere from 8-10 pounds before my wedding.
  2. Grow in my relationship with the Lord. I've decided that to do this I need a set time to spend with Him. I think I've decided that I'm going to wake up 15 minutes earlier and start my day with some sort of devotional. I figured what better way to begin each day than with my Father?!
  3. Plan a wedding! I have officially 7 months to plan the day I've been dreaming of my whole life. My goal is to do this with as little stress as possible and do it for as little cash as possible.
  4. Take full advantage of my student teaching opportunity. It's my last semester as an undergrad college student and I want to definitely make the most of it. I hope that over the next 12 weeks I can learn so much from my sweet 2nd graders and my awesome cooperating teacher.
  5. Get a job! I'm already beginning to diligently pray that the Lord blesses me with the job of my dreams. I truly believe teaching is my calling and I'm praying that the Lord provides!
  6. Learn (or attempt to) cook/ be a wife. Okay, so this goal/ resolution encompasses a lot, but this year is really going to be a learning process. But, I'm going to resolve 7 months before I become a wife, that I'm going to do everything in my ability to be a darn good one!

After thinking about my resolutions and the year ahead in general, the Lord gave me this familiar verse that encouraged me...

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

This year is going to bring a lot of things that are unknown, but I can go into them all knowing that the Lord has big plans for my life and for that I'm so excited!

Until the next time I think of something "blog worthy"...
